Cagrilintide
Also called Cagri
Cagrilintide is an investigational drug researched for feeling full sooner and losing weight through the amylin pathway. Readers often find it while looking for help with returning hunger on a GLP-1; adding it to another drug is not the same as the CagriSema regimen tested in trials.
Dosage & duration
Published standalone trial doses; these are research targets, not starting instructions.

Published example · product-specific- Dose
- 0.3, 0.6, 1.2, 2.4 or 4.5 mg target doses
- How often
- Once weekly, under the skin
- How long
- 26 weeks
Separate trial groups with trial-managed dose escalation; not an approved self-directed cycle.

The practical difference
Cagrilintide and CagriSema are different treatments
Both appear in appetite and weight-loss research. The names describe different treatments.
| What the name means | Cagrilintide | CagriSema |
|---|---|---|
| Drugs involved | Cagrilintide alone | Cagrilintide + semaglutide |
| Research result | Belongs to the single-drug trial | Belongs to the combination trial |
Why people are interested
The appeal is stronger fullness and less preoccupation with food. Trials found weight loss with cagrilintide alone, while online discussions often focus on adding it when appetite returns. A reduction in appetite does not tell you whether a combination is safe.
Cagrilintide versus CagriSema
CagriSema pairs cagrilintide with semaglutide. It is not a name for cagrilintide alone or for any mixture with tirzepatide or retatrutide. Each combination needs its own evidence.
What can get in the way
Nausea and other stomach symptoms are an important trade-off. Very low appetite, persistent vomiting or inability to drink should not be treated as proof that a dose is working especially well.

How to read this estimate
Estimated from study endpoints; the curve between measurements is reconstructed. Compare amounts and timing in mg.
A concentration estimate reconstructed from the stated source dose and timing.

- Observed extravascular concentrations already contain bioavailability; do not multiply by legacy F or add an independently assumed F.
- Dose scaling and repeated-dose superposition use fixed parameters; the example dose does not calibrate the curve.
- Small fixed comparator cohort; renal-study normal cohort had lower dose-normalized exposure and substantial variability.
- Linear scaling outside0.9mg and accumulation are mathematical extrapolations, not fitted multidose trial reproduction.
- Endpoint-based shape underestimates source mean AUC by10.25%; disclose model approximation, do not claim exact AUC fit.

Common questions
Is cagrilintide a GLP-1?
It is an amylin analogue rather than a GLP-1 receptor agonist. CagriSema adds semaglutide, which is a GLP-1 drug.
Is it the same as CagriSema?
No. CagriSema includes cagrilintide and semaglutide together.

Notes on the quick facts
- Main goal
- Acts through an amylin-related pathway.
- Key distinction
- Standalone and combination results are different.
- Practical downside
- Less appetite is not automatically better.
