Kisspeptin

Also called Kisspeptin-10 · Metastin

Kisspeptin draws interest for libido, reproductive hormones and fertility. Early human studies are promising for specific hormone and sexual-response measures, but kisspeptin-10 and kisspeptin-54 are different forms, and the tested infusions are not the same as a few weekly home injections.

Match the result to the goal

Desire, hormones and fertility need separate answers

  • Sexual desire

Early studies measured acute responses to sexual cues.

  • Hormone signals

A rise in LH, FSH or testosterone is a different outcome.

  • Fertility

Sperm and pregnancy outcomes need their own evidence.

The studied kisspeptin forms and infusions do not establish a universal home-injection routine. Sources and context
In this guide

Libido and fertility are different goals

A person can have sexual desire without normal sperm production, or fertility concerns without low desire. A laboratory arousal response is not proof of restored fertility. The endpoint should match the problem you want to understand.

What the sexual-desire study found

An acute kisspeptin-54 infusion altered sexual brain responses and increased arousal measures in men with low desire. It did not test a long-term kisspeptin-10 injection course or establish a replacement for established assessment and treatment.

Newer hormone research still depends on delivery

A small 2026 study sustained hormone responses during 12 days of daily eight-hour kisspeptin-10 infusions. That adds human evidence, but the schedule and population differ sharply from reported TRT-adjunct routines. It did not establish sperm recovery or ongoing libido benefit.

Model details: Kisspeptin · relative timing

Compare timing and buildup for this compound. The values are not blood concentrations or a measure of strength.

Shows a relative timing scenario; absolute blood concentrations are not calibrated.

Timing assumptions and sources

KP54 IV half-life is about 27.6 min; KP10 is about 3.8–4.1 min. Neither establishes SC absorption for the generic product.

One 1 mg input peaks at 1 relative unit after a single dose. Other amounts scale proportionally; overlapping doses add when accumulation is on. Different compounds use separate relative scales.

Timing half-life used
0.46 hours
Absorption half-life assumed
0.115 hours
Reference amount for the relative scale
1 mg
  • Absorption half-life is assumed to be one quarter of the slower timescale (0.115 h); it is not a measured absorption parameter.
  • A single 1-unit input has a peak of 1 relative unit; scaling and repeated-dose addition are mathematical assumptions. This normalization is independent of the example dose.
  • Clarify peptide identity beside the curve; do not silently treat all kisspeptin as KP54.
  • Absolute calibration requires a known peptide length, analyte, route, assay and reference dose.
  • This curve does not include endogenous peptide or predict gonadotropin responses.

Common questions

Is KP10 the same as KP54?

No. They are different kisspeptin forms with different exposure and study regimens.

Does more LH prove fertility has returned?

No. A hormone response is not a semen or pregnancy outcome.
