GHRP-6
Also called GHRP6
GHRP-6 is often discussed for increasing hunger as well as recovery and growth-hormone release. That makes it especially interesting to people struggling to eat enough; it can be an awkward fit for someone whose main goal is appetite control or fat loss.
Dosage & duration
Published combination-treatment example, not a solo GHRP-6 bodybuilding protocol.
Retrospective study in testosterone-treated men
Published example · product-specific- Dose
- 100 mcg GHRP-6 per administration
- How often
- Three times daily, under the skin
- How long
- Ongoing treatment; follow-up about every 3–4 months
Combined with 100 mcg each of GHRP-2 and sermorelin; only 14 selected men analysed. No fixed safe cycle established.

The study measured hormones; it did not establish that this schedule builds muscle.
The appetite question
More hunger can pull goals in different directions
Trying to eat more
-
The attraction
Some users report more hunger and hope it will make eating enough easier.
Trying to control intake
-
The trade-off
If hunger rises, keeping calorie intake under control can become harder.
Why appetite dominates the discussion
Users often describe a hunger spike and ask whether it can help them gain weight. Eating more can increase body weight, but does not mean the added weight will be muscle. Personal reports also vary, so hunger is not a reliable product-authenticity test.
Sleep and recovery need their own evidence
Small human experiments measured hormone and sleep responses. They do not establish a long-term sleep aid or injury-recovery regimen. More GH release should not be translated straight into more strength.
What differs from GHRP-2 or ipamorelin
Readers often compare the appetite experience and injection burden. There is no basis here to rank those products as universally better for muscle gain. FDA also flags cortisol and blood-glucose concerns for GHRP-6, so appetite is not the only consideration.
Model details: GHRP-6 · relative timing
Compare timing and buildup for this compound. The values are not blood concentrations or a measure of strength.
Shows a relative timing scenario; absolute blood concentrations are not calibrated.
Timing assumptions and sources
Cabrales 2013: IV terminal half-life 2.5 ± 1.1 h; distribution half-life 7.6 ± 1.9 min. SC absorption was not measured.
One 1 mg input peaks at 1 relative unit after a single dose. Other amounts scale proportionally; overlapping doses add when accumulation is on. Different compounds use separate relative scales.
- Timing half-life used
- 2.5 hours
- Absorption half-life assumed
- 0.625 hours
- Reference amount for the relative scale
- 1 mg
- Absorption half-life is assumed to be one quarter of the slower timescale (0.625 h); it is not a measured absorption parameter.
- A single 1-unit input has a peak of 1 relative unit; scaling and repeated-dose addition are mathematical assumptions. This normalization is independent of the example dose.
- The study used larger weight-based IV exposures than typical catalog SC scenarios.
- No SC availability, Cmax or Tmax was established.
- This does not model GH concentration.
- Cabrales et al. 2013 GHRP-6 PK in nine healthy men
Nine healthy men received single 100/200/400 µg/kg IV boluses. LC-MS showed biexponential disposition: terminal 2.5 h and distribution 7.6 min. Unexplained later concentration spikes occurred in four subjects.

Common questions
Does more hunger mean it is building muscle?
No. Appetite, calorie intake and muscle growth are separate outcomes.
Is the published dose a GHRP-6-only trial?
No. The displayed long-term example combined GHRP-6, GHRP-2 and sermorelin in selected men already using testosterone.

Notes on the quick facts
- Common interest
- Reported experiences vary.
- Weight versus muscle
- Eating more does not guarantee lean tissue gain.
- Practical trade-off
- May conflict with dieting or glucose-control goals.
