The U-100 conversion is 100 scale units per 1 mL, not a universal syringe scale. Each row calculates a separate target scenario. Every draw from a uniformly mixed vial contains all components in the same ratio. If row volumes differ, one draw cannot meet all targets. Do not add these volumes or treat the rows as separate injections.
Educational arithmetic only. The calculation assumes uniform mixing and treats the entered diluent volume as final solution volume. It does not verify the mixture's compatibility, concentration, sterility, stability, or suitability for use. Displayed decimals do not establish measuring precision. Follow the specific product or pharmacy instructions. CDC preparation guidance notes that combining medications may constitute pharmaceutical compounding.
About this tool
This calculator compares the volume corresponding to each entered component target in a fixed-ratio blend. Each row is a separate calculation, not a separate draw instruction or a solution that satisfies every target at once. It assumes uniform mixing and treats entered diluent volume as final solution volume; it does not establish compatibility, a dose regimen, sterility, or stability.
How to use it
- 1 Enter the stated mass of each component in the vial. Presets are example inputs, not verified preparation or dosing instructions.
- 2 Enter the shared volume in mL and check the assumed final volume against the supplied product or pharmacy information.
- 3 Enter each component target from the applicable instructions to compare the calculated volumes.
- 4 Compare the row volumes. If they differ, no single draw can satisfy all entered targets in that fixed-ratio mixture. Do not add the row volumes or treat them as separate injections; resolve the mismatch with the pharmacist or prescriber.
Frequently asked questions
How does the calculator handle different target doses per component?
For each row, it divides that target mass by that component's calculated concentration. It does not optimize a primary component or adjust the mixture. Every draw from a uniformly mixed vial contains all components in the same ratio, so independently chosen targets may be incompatible with one draw.
Can I use this with insulin syringes?
The displayed scale conversion is U-100 only: 100 scale units represent 1 mL. It is not interchangeable with other device markings or with a drug's mass or potency units. Confirm the supplied concentration, device, and measurement instructions; a capacity warning is not advice to split a dose or use multiple syringes.
