Semax
Also called Semax
People consider Semax for focus, mental stamina and feeling less mentally drained. It is usually encountered as nasal drops or a spray. Research in neurological illness is not the same as proving sharper performance in healthy users, so a productivity promise deserves more scrutiny than a list of brain-signaling mechanisms.
Dosage & duration

Reported use · unapproved regimen- Dose
- 3 drops into each nasal passage
- How often
- Twice daily, intranasal
- How long
- 10 days in this sheet
Specific to this 0.1% drop preparation. Not a generic spray amount, injected regimen or recommendation to repeat courses.

The sheet states 0.1% equals 1 mg/mL. Without the device’s drop or spray volume, do not turn its count into another product’s dose.
Why people consider Semax
Focus through a demanding day
-
Stay with the task
Sustained attention is the goal during demanding work or study.
-
Less mental fatigue
People hope to feel less drained after a long stretch of concentration.
-
Learning and recall
Better performance matters more than how noticeable a product feels.
Why is Semax popular with nootropic users?
Focus and mental stamina are the attraction: getting through demanding work or study with less mental fatigue. Semax research includes neurological illness and laboratory signaling effects. Those findings do not establish how much a healthy person’s attention or productivity improves.
The biggest dosing mix-up
The 0.1% and 1% formulations differ tenfold at the same volume. A spray pump can also deliver a different volume from a dropper. Comparing “two sprays” with “three drops” without these details is not a meaningful dose comparison.
Is more noticeable always better?
No. A strong feeling does not prove better learning, and changes in sleep or anxiety can undermine the original goal. Keep outcomes separate: completed work, errors, recall and next-day functioning are more useful than a vague “brain boost.”
Semax, Selank and modified versions
Semax is generally discussed for focus; Selank more often for anxiety. They are different compounds. N-acetyl or amidated derivatives also need their own evidence and cannot borrow the original nasal product’s dose or claimed duration.
Model details: Semax · relative timing
Compare timing and buildup for this compound. The values are not blood concentrations or a measure of strength.
Shows a relative timing scenario; absolute blood concentrations are not calibrated.
Timing assumptions and sources
Legacy 0.48 h is an assumption, not measured human systemic half-life. Brain residence or 4–8 h effects must not be substituted for blood elimination.
One 1 mg input peaks at 1 relative unit after a single dose. Other amounts scale proportionally; overlapping doses add when accumulation is on. Different compounds use separate relative scales.
- Timing half-life used
- 0.48 hours
- Absorption half-life assumed
- 0.12 hours
- Reference amount for the relative scale
- 1 mg
- Absorption half-life is assumed to be one quarter of the slower timescale (0.12 h); it is not a measured absorption parameter.
- A single 1-unit input has a peak of 1 relative unit; scaling and repeated-dose addition are mathematical assumptions. This normalization is independent of the example dose.
- Species/route and parent/metabolite separation remain unresolved for absolute exposure.
- Do not import enkephalin half-life from enzyme-inhibition experiments.
- Semax, an ACTH(4-10) analogue with nootropic properties, activates dopaminergic and serotoninergic brain systems in rodents.
Legacy 0.48 h is an assumption, not measured human systemic half-life. Brain residence or 4–8 h effects must not be substituted for blood elimination.

Semax degrades toHFPGP andPGP in nerve-cell work; do not combine parent and metabolite exposure.

Common questions
Is Semax like a stimulant?
It is discussed for focus and mental stamina, but a stimulating feeling does not prove the same mechanism, benefits or risk profile as an established stimulant medicine.
Can I copy a drop count to my nasal spray?
Only the actual concentration and delivered volume define the amount. A different pump or strength can change it substantially.

Notes on the quick facts
- Main goals
- Feeling stimulated is not the same as improved memory or task performance.
- 0.1% vs 1%
- At equal volume, 1% contains ten times as much as 0.1%.
- Drops vs sprays
- A drop and a spray are not automatically the same amount.
